My names are Ishiaku Bala Toro, born to a Fulani family
in 1967. My formal education began at a nomadic primary school, which I attended on alternate days, sharing the care of our
herd of cattle with my brother. In 1994 I obtained a BSc in Physics at the University of Jos, and I worked in Govt. College
for 15 years before moving to study in the UK
I was born in the small town of Toro to the family of Hardo Abubakar. Both my parents are
Fulani. My father came from the family of Hardo Jafaru, originally from Sokoto in the far north of the country. They were
descendants of the great Usman dan Fodio. My mother is from the family of Jauro Sambo from Zamfara State.
